Unifix – LFG

Technical Data Sheet

Product Description

UNIFIX – LFG is an aqueous based liquid of dimethylol ethylene urea formaldehyde which contains very low free formaldehyde contents. UNIFIX – LFG is a reactant type of resin for the sophisticated type of finishes on textiles where low free formaldehyde is required. It is a APEO/NPEO free product and conforms to Oeko-tex and REACH compliance as well.

How to Apply

Finishing bath is prepared with UNIFIX-LFG and water with required concentration. For proper fixation of this resin 10% catalyst such as magnesium chloride or ammonium chloride should be added on the weight of resin. Catalyst should be added to the finishing bah pre-dissolved in water. UNIFIX-LFG can be mixed with all other type of water based resins, polyvinyl acetate emulsions, polyethylene emulsions, cationic and non-ionic softeners, polyvinyl alcohol, and acrylic polymers. 30 to 150 g/l is recommended for crease recovery finishes as desired.

Features and Benefits

  • UNIFIX-LFG provides maximum elasticity and crease recovery effects in finished fabrics.
  • Contains low free formaldehyde in the finished fabrics.
  • Soft and wash-n-wear finishes are obtained. when used with silicone elastomer.

Physical Properties

Appearance : Pale Coloured Liquid lonic character: Non-lonic pH : 6.0-7.0

Application

UNIFIX-LFG is generally applied at padding mangle. The finished fabric is dried on stenter machine or hot air fiue at 130°C followed by curing for polymerization of resin at 180°C for 1 min.

Precautions when in use

1. Ensure that the UNIFIX-LFG solution is completely homogenous before using.
2. Clean inside of pad bath before applying this softner and keep the mangle clean during the process.

Storage and Handling

To ensure that the product quality is maintained, the container should be tightly sealed when not in use. Store at normal temperature, and prevent prolonged exposure to extreme heat or freezing condition, which may cause product separation. If separation does occur, thaw if frozen, stir the contents, and use in the normal manner.
